Vintage matte-finish 3.75 x 5.25 photo of Marconi in winter clothes by Pittaway of Ottawa, affixed to its original 7 x 9 photographer’s mount, signed and inscribed on the mount in black ink “To Mr. Harry McClure, from his sincere friend, Guglielmo Marconi, 21st Jan., 1902.” In very good condition, with heavy damp staining to the left border and mild scattered soiling. Later in 1902, Marconi would use his station in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, to transmit the first radio message to cross the Atlantic from North America. RR Auction COA.
