Vintage Wright Brothers pinback button, .75-inch diameter, bearing images of both Orville and Wilbur Wright and the text, “Wright Brothers Home Celebration, Dayton, Ohio, June 17–18, 1909.” Produced by Whitehead & Hoag Co., it retains the original cardboard maker’s insert on the reverse. In fine condition, with trivial surface marks and soiling. In June of 1909, the brothers returned to their hometown of Dayton, where they were greeted with parades, receptions, and fireworks, and received medals from Congress, the state of Ohio, and the city.
