Vance “First Lieutenant in the Third Regiment of Dragoons in the service of the United States.” Signed at the conclusion by Polk and countersigned by Secretary of War William Marcy. In very good condition, with intersecting storage folds, scattered toning, light wrinkling, and a small ink notation to top edge. The paper seal is cracked and toned, but mostly intact.
