Some authors depicted are Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, William Cullen Bryant, James Fenimore Cooper, Nathaniel Hawthorne, John Greenleaf Whittier, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and James Russell Lowell. Attractive, detailed and crisp image. Reverse bears a 5-cent revenue stamp. The mount has damp staining and areas of heavy toning. A great piece of American literary history. RR Auction COA.
