In part: “In Pursuance of the Act of Congress, passed on the first day of June, 1796, entitled ‘An Act regulating the Grants of Land appropriated for Military Services, and for the Society of the United Brethren for propagating the Gospel among the Heathen…There is granted unto Caleb Lincoln who was a private in Colonel Crane’s Regiment of Artillery in the late Massachusetts line a certain Tract of Land estimated to contain One Hundred Acres...in the Fifth Range of the Tract appropriated for satisfying Warrants for military services.” Signed at the conclusion by Monroe and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office Josiah Meigs. General Land Office seal affixed to the left side remains fully intact. Intersecting storage folds, and heavy scattered soiling, foxing, and toning, otherwise very good condition.
