American writer (1860–1940) who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1922 for his autobiographical volume, A Daughter of the Middle Border. Three ALSs, one dated 1898 and two undated, with the 1898 letter providing his permanent address in Chicago and asking the recipient to “please send type-written proof.” In overall fine condition, with handling wear and a torn upper left corner of one letter.
