Monroe Salisbury

Silent film matinee idol (1876–1935) who died after sustaining a skull fracture after a fall from his horse. Dapper vintage pearl-finish 8 x 10 photo of Salisbury in a tweed jacket and hat, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “For Mr. & Mrs. Vallejo, with the compliments & best wishes of Monroe Salisbury, Dec. 30–1925.” In very good condition, with scattered creases and rubbing to finish, mounting remnants to reverse, mild silvering, ink notation to top edge, and light impressions around image from previous display. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
