Played third base for the pennant winning St. Louis Browns of the American Association, considered a major league during the mid-1880s who died in 1952. Latham was always a showman. In one game, as part of a barn-storming tour in the mid-1880s, Arlie entertained a small crowd of fans by promising after the game was over to leap off a nearby church steeple into a quart bottle of milk. Vintage ink signature, “Arlie Latham,” on an off-white 5 x 2.5 card. Some scattered light soiling and two pencil notations to top corners, otherwise fine condition.
