Hunt writes concerning a recommendation, in part: “Your letter of 12th March was received during my absence…An opening offered for the captaining of a battery of Pennsylvania Arty in Genl. Segwick camp and I recommended you. Sedgwick…and requested your appointment but some difficulty has occurred which has prevented the appointment from being made.” Four horizontal folds, two small slits to the top edge, and a pencil notation, otherwise fine condition.
