Dude, he’s as big a sinner as the rest of us Lesters…There ain’t nothing about prayer to laugh at Dude,’ she said. ‘All of us has got to have it some time or another,’” signed at the conclusion in black felt tip; TLS, one page, 7 x 6.25, personal letterhead, June 9, 1981. Caldwell responds to Anne Edwards regarding a former colleague, in part: “She belonged to a higher caste (magazine staff) and I never advanced beyond much higher than the obituary and Kiwanis beats”; and a green felt tip signature on an off-white 5 x 3 card. In very good condition, with light toning to the typescript and signature, and a horizontal crease passing through the signature on the TLS, as well as a staple mark to the top left corner and trimmed edges.
