American writer (1886–1918), best known for the much-anthologized poem ‘Trees,’ who was killed at the Second Battle of Marne at the age of 31. They are contained in a volume called ‘Trees and Other Poems’ published by George H. Doran Co., 38 West 32nd Street, New York City. I greatly enjoyed lecturing in Boston. I hope I may have the pleasure of meeting you again.” Intersecting folds, one of which passes through a single letter of the signature, two small areas of separation at the top edge of the vertical folds, and light toning, otherwise fine condition.
