French writes to his “dear Hartley,” in full: “I am writing a score of the men of our kind & to meet Mr. Bruce Joy at my studio next Tuesday evening and I should be very glad if you would be one of the number. Tuesday, Dec 23 at 8.30 o’clock.” Matted with an unsigned image of French and an image of the Lincoln Memorial to an overall size of 17.5 x 20.5.
