In full (translated): “I am entirely on your side in favor of a general political amnesty. I give you therefore my full support, although I do wonder whether the presence of my signature may influence in any way these persons whom the fate of so many good people depends. But on what can we expect, any way, from the present despicable situation?” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, creases, scattered soiling and staining, and a few penciled office notations, including his name written adjacent to his signature.
