William “Bill” Millin (1922–2010) served as the Piper of the 1st Special Service Commando Brigade. As he landed on the Normandy Beaches, he upheld his role, playing the Brigade shore with his bagpipes under attack from enemy fire, and continued to provide the hymns to his comrades throughout the fight. Satin-finish 8 x 10 photo of Piper Bill, signed in blue felt tip, “Piper Bill Millin.” In fine condition, with trivial creasing towards bottom right corner. RRAuction COA.
