Legendary Russian ballet dancer (1890–1950), famed for his exceptional prowess and artistry, whose career effectively ended in 1919 with a schizophrenia-related nervous breakdown. Uncommon vintage fountain pen signature, “Souvenir de Vaslav Nijinsky, Montevideo, 27.7.17,” on a light blue 6.5 x 6 album page. In fine condition, with scattered toning and foxing, primarily to the edges, which could be matted out. Nijinsky is rare in any form, and this is a particularly exceptional example.
