Description

Scarce portrait of the Keystone Studios founder

Pioneering filmmaker (1880–1960) who founded Keystone Studios and introduced to the public such screen legends as Fatty Arbuckle, Mack Swain, The Keystone Kops, and Charlie Chaplin. Rare vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in green fountain pen “Hollywood, Sepr–8–40, For April Joy, Best wishes, Mack Sennett.” In very good condition, with scattered creases, surface marks, chip to left edge, and light vertical rippling, none of which overly affects the bold signature. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
