Description

Arthur C. Clarke

Two items: Souvenir typescript, one page, 8.5 x 11, of a passage from The Road to Extinction, dated 2001. In part: “The drought has lasted now for ten million years, and the reign of the terrible lizards had long since ended. Here on the Equator, in the continent which would one day be known as Africa, the battle for existence had reached a new climax of ferocity…It was always hungry, and now it was starving.” Signed at the bottom in blue ballpoint, “Arthur C. Clarke”; and a color satin-finish 5 x 7 profile photo of Clarke, signed in black ink. In overall fine condition, with some very light creasing to the top left corner of the letter, and a light adhesive remnant on Clarke’s cheek. RRAuction COA.
