In full: “Thank you for your two letters which I have read with interest. I am looking for the action of the Railroad Board in the issues you raise and I hope it will be prompt.” In very good to fine condition with intersecting folds with a horizontal fold crossing the top of his name, light toning, and slight mirroring of his signature and a few other words. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. This letter was written just prior to Taft's nomination as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. At the time, he was representing The Grand Trunk Railway System on the Board of Arbitration that was to determine the amount to be paid by the Dominion [Canadian] Government for stock of the corporation.
