Eminent British writer (1866–1946) who pioneered the science fiction genre with such classic novels as The Time Machine, War of the Worlds, and The Invisible Man. ALS, one page, 5.5 x 9, no date. In haste, Wells sends a letter to Mrs. Tucker from the Arlington Hotel in Washington, D. C. where he was staying while attending the 1921-1922 Washington Naval Conference on disarmament. In part: “I’m just full up. I can’t even write a message…The only time I have to spare I want to give to recreation.” Scattered wrinkling at the top of the page, a tiny tear at the top border, and a light, large block of uniform toning covering most of the page, otherwise fine condition. A bold signature from the brilliant author. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
