Description

Coveted inscription to assistant that accompanied Hepburn to the end of the world and back

Scarce vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Hepburn in a leather flight jacket and cap from one of her films, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Vi, with more affection, Katharine.” The photo’s recipient, Violet Murray, was a longtime wardrobe mistress who worked on over 20 films during the 1950s and 1960s, including The African Queen. Scattered creasing, surface marks, and impressions, as well as some scattered light soiling, otherwise very good condition. Hepburn famously refused to sign any type of photo except for friends and professional acquaintances; this one, with direct film association, certainly adds to its desirability. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
