Ornate land grant issued for service in the War of 1812

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 13 x 10, November 27, 1820. Land grant issued to John Wise, "late a private in the Worths company, of the Second Regiment of Infantry, a certain tract of land, containing one hundred and sixty acres…" of land in Arkansas. Signed at the conclusion by Monroe and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office Josiah Meigs. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, scattered toning and soiling, heavier to edges, and a few spots. The paper seal is slightly worn, but intact. A nicely engraved land grant with a bold signature. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
