Alexander Woollcott

Critic and commentator for The New Yorker magazine and a member of the Algonquin Round Table(1887–1943). He was the inspiration for Sheridan Whiteside, the main character in the play The Man Who Came to Dinner. Signed book: The Woollcott Reader. First edition, first printing. NY: Viking Press, 1935. Hardcover with slipcase, 6 x 8.5, 1010 pages. Signed on the limitations page in black ink. In fine condition, with some mild rippling to signed page and tops of other pages, light toning to both pastedowns, and some scattered light toning and soiling to covers and spine.
