Remington signs a book about Empress Josephine

Signed book: Citizeness Bonaparte by Imbert De Saint-Amand. Later printing. NY: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1893. Hardcover, 5.25 x 7.5, 306 pages. Signed in black ink on the inside front cover, “Frederic Remington, Oct. 15, 1894.” Written beneath his signature in an unknown hand is the notation “to Augustus Thomas in exchange for new copy.” In very good condition, with toning and scattered soiling to the pages, split along the hinge to the back cover, edge wear with moderate wear and some surface loss to the head and tail of the spine, and some tears to the fabric cover. Thomas was a playwright best known for ‘The Harvest Moon’ and ‘As a Man Thinks.’ Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
