I do not think I have ever enjoyed one any more than I did that one and I hope it will be possible for me to come back to Texas when the campaign is going on.” In fine condition. Truman did not actively seek the vice presidential nomination, but the party was concerned with FDR’s declining health, and chances were very high he would not live to serve another full term.
