Bank check, 8.25 x 3, filled out in type and signed by Monroe, payable to Hedda Rosten for $65.85, March 31, 1961. In fine, clean condition, with expected cancellation holes and stamps, with show-through from a stamp on reverse lightly affecting the opening stroke of signature. Rosten was Marilyn’s companion and secretary during the filming of The Prince and the Showgirl, though she was reportedly forced off the set after clashing with Marilyn’s director and costar, Laurence Olivier. Both Rosten and her husband, poet Norman Rosten, were among Marilyn’s closest friends, and both were named as beneficiaries in Marilyn’s will. A well-preserved example.
