President Eisenhower greets a fellow World War II military leader

Vintage matte-finish 8 x 8 photo affixed to an 11 x 13.5 mount, signed in fountain pen beneath a calligraphic inscription, “For Ted Clifton, With best wishes,” with the president adding “and warm regards” before his signature. Suede-matted and framed to an overall size of 18 x 20.75. In fine condition, with thin strip of silvering at the edges and soiling to the top left side of the mount. The original recipient, Army Major General Chester V. "Ted" Clifton Jr., served in Italy in the Cassino and Anzio campaigns and in the invasion of southern France, and later was a senior military aide to President John F. Kennedy. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
