Australian-born actor (1909–1961) who appeared in such films as The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. He died from a heart attack while appearing in Chicago with Mae West in a production of her play Sextette. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, Best wishes, Alan Marshal.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of September 15, 1937, the date the signature was acquired. In fine condition, with a few scattered light surface marks and dings and a bit of light discoloration to background. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
