She was slumped over the kitchen table, a cigarette in her mouth and an empty glass in her hand. Three weeks later her husband committed suicide in the exact same spot. Lovely vintage glossy 8 x 10 Universal photo of Shannon in the gown which she wore in Night Life of the Gods, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, Best wishes, Peggy Shannon.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of January 16, 1935, the date the signature was acquired, as well as printed promotional information.
