This was the only occasion on which an actress has won for multiple roles. This rule would be changed three years later. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Fox Pictures publicity photo, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, Best wishes from Janet Gaynor.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of January 24, 1935, the date the signature was acquired.
