Walker writes a friendly letter to "Bob." In part: "It's a hell of a note to wait until a few minutes before the mails close to write a handsome, distinguished, talented swell guy…We are drinking hot water and standing for Frenchmen attacking us with hot douches but we are feeling well enough to be hitch hiking on some trans Atlantic freighter before very long, when we all look forward to seeing you."
