Triple 'ace' in World War II. Two TLSs, one one-page and the other two pages, both signed "C. E. Anderson," 6 x 9, both on his typed personal letterhead, dated February 23, 1993, and May 24, 1994, respectively. Both are to "Joe," and send thanks for an autograph request. One reads, in part: "Thanks for the promotion but the name change amused me. You must have been thinking of Chuck Yeager as you were writing. I have read your letter several times trying to figure out how to respond. Best to stick to the facts and not try to spectulate [sic]…I suggest you just let it lie there and don't stir the pot. I am certainly not going to ask Chuck Yeager what he thinks of Gen. Howard. The matter doesn't bother me at all and I will not get involved." In overall fine condition. Accompanied by one of the original mailing envelopes. RRAuction COA.
