Description

Ike transmits his personally-worn North African campaign patch

War-dated TLS, one page, 6 x 8, Headquarters European Theater letterhead, February 14, 1944. Ike writes Mrs. J. Watts in Lancashire. In full: “I regret that I omitted to enclose in my last letter to you the shoulder flash you desired. The one I am enclosing is one I wore in the North African Campaign.” Creasing, a horizontal fold touching the base of his signature, and a tiny chip at the top of the page, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by the referenced shoulder patch. Highly desirable World War II artifact with superlative provenance from Ike himself. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
