Description

American artist (1867–1944) whose distinctive ‘Gibson Girl’ illustrations defined the image of American women at the turn of the 20th century. ALS signed “C. D. Gibson,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, no date. Gibson writes “Bruce.” In part: “I should have liked going there with you and to have seen a little of the college. Another time I hope we will have better luck. I wish I could get off as it is but I can’t. These are busy times with me. I will see you up in old Marion if not before.” Horizontal fold and scattered soiling, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
