Smearing to the words (explained below), wrinkling to the paper, and trimmed edges, otherwise fine condition. According to the consignor, she witnessed Lucky Lindy take flight for Paris in 1927, and by 1942 was working as a chamber maid and waitress at the Long Island Aviation Country Club in Hicksville, New York, when she approached him for this autograph. Her husband, wanting to verify the signature’s authenticity, moistened his thumb and wiped it across the page leaving the smudge.
