Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 15.75 x 9.75, July 22, 1865. President Johnson appoints John S. Keyes a 'Marshall of the United States for the District of Massachusetts.' Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Johnson, and countersigned by Secretary of State William Seward. Light intersecting folds, wrinkling around seal, and light show-through from three signed oaths from Keyes on reverse, otherwise fine, clean condition.
