Troubled British boxer (1928-1966) who took the middleweight title from Sugar Ray Robinson in 1951 (then lost it two months later in a rematch). Turpin committed suicide in 1966 after first shooting his two-year-old daughter to death. Vintage glossy 3.25 x 5.5 photo of Turpin in his title belt, signed and inscribed in fountain pen "Best wishes Jimmy, from Randy Turpin 1951." Several light postal impressions to image, and light contrast to one letter of inscription, otherwise fine condition. Turpin is quite rare in any form.
