Boxing Hall of Famer (1901-1970) considered one of the best Ukranian boxers. Vintage 3.5 x 5.25 postcard photo of Kaplan as the retired world featherweight champion, signed and inscribed in black ink "To my friend Jim Wiggins, Best of luck, good health from Louis Kid Kaplan." Kaplan has switched pens after the beginning of the inscription due to skipping and ink flow. On the reverse, Kaplan has written a short note which reads, "Hello Jim. Keep up the good work. Hoping this fined [sic] you in good health. Louis Kid Kaplan." Kaplan has also addressed the postcard, which bears a March 27, 1947, Hartford, Connecticut postmark. In very good condition, with aforementioned pen change, scattered creases and surface marks, some light soiling to bottom, and some surface impressions under a single word of inscription from where Kaplan switched pens.
