Karloff permits the use of his familiar voice on the soundtrack of the 1966 holiday classic, How The Grinch Stole Christmas

DS, four pages, 8.5 x 11, June 15, 1966. Karloff agrees to terms with MGM Records for “narration of certain literary material to be used in the production of phonograph records.” In part: “The material recorded is from the sound track of the television show entitled ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas.’ Each recording shall be subject to our approval as satisfactory for the manufacture and sale of photograph records…We shall pay you for your services to be rendered hereunder and for the rights granted herein, a royalty of, three percent…of the suggested retail list price.” Signed at the conclusion of the last page and initialed by Karloff sixteen times! Slight wrinkling, several staple holes at the top corner of each page, and a tiny tear at the upper left edge of each page, otherwise fine condition. Karloff’s narration of the animated holiday special remains a beloved tradition nearly 45 years after its release! Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
