Unique commemorative cover initially designed with a cachet honoring Space Shuttle Mission and postmarked July 7, 1980, in Houston, signed in black felt tip, “Michael J. Smith,” by the pilot of Space Shuttle Challenger. The envelope bears a second postal cancellation of January 28, 1986, at Cape Canaveral, Florida and a memorial cancellation honoring the seven astronauts who died onboard shortly after launch.
