Prominent and sometimes controversial American clergyman, orator, and abolitionist (1813–1887) who was the brother of Uncle Tom’s Cabin author Harriet Beecher Stowe. DS, signed “H. W. Beecher,” one page both sides, 17 x 8, March 19, 1881. Northern Pacific Railroad Company stock certificate for 138 shares issued to Beecher. Signed on the reverse by Beecher. Two vertical folds, expected stamps and cancellation holes, scattered creases and wrinkles, and mild toning, otherwise very good condition. Accompanied by a receipt issued to Beecher from the treasurer of the Northern Pacific, also signed “H. W. Beecher,” and dated March 25, 1881. RRAuction COA.
