Interestingly, on the night that George Washington learned that Benedict Arnold was a traitor, he personally asked Captain Webster to guard his tent. As selectman of Salisbury, New Hampshire, receipt to a gentleman for “one Hund. continental Dollars for his helping to repair the Meeting House.” Affixed to a slightly larger sheet.
