We are a great and fortunate country and our people are a great and fine people but we can not afford to be complascent [sic] when the world’s eyes are upon us. We must constantly be trying to improve our democracy and to make it as perfect as human things czn [sic] ever be. We lead in military and economic strength but I feel it essential that we lead in spiritual and moral strength. If people understand this I know they will do their utmost to be a great people and to give to the world the best possible returns.” In very good condition, with light wrinkling, show-through from paste on the reverse, and permanently affixed to a same-sized sheet.
