Charles Goodyear

American inventor (1800–1860) whose development of the vulcanization process revolutionized the rubber industry and had a direct and far-reaching effect on other manufacturing enterprises, from shoe heels to automobile tires. Bank check, 6.25 x 2.25, filled out and signed by Goodyear, “Chas Goodyear,” payable to C. Goodyear for $100.00, May 22, 1866. In fine condition, with two cancellation cuts to pay line, three vertical folds, and lightly trimmed edges. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
