Rare ALS signed “W. G. Harding,” one page, 8 x 9.75, United States Senate letterhead, June 12, 1915. A letter of introduction for C. D. Schaffer. In part: “The bearer…is my neighbor…and more or less a business associate. He is making his first trip to Washington, and I am writing this note in the hope that he may know the fullest courtesies accorded a visitor, who will not ask the unreasonable, but will appreciate all courtesies shown. The writer will be glad to reciprocate, later on, for any attentions shown to this highly valued friend.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and some scattered light toning and spotting. Handwritten letters from any part of Harding’s political career are scarce and highly desirable. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
