With the decline of her career in the early 1950s, she turned increasingly to alcohol and died in a house fire at the age of 41. Seductive vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 portrait, signed and inscribed in red ballpoint “For my dear, wonderful Gene—Just because I love you, because you make me look like this! All my affection, always—Linda 1946.” In fine condition, with slight corner bends.
