Russian artist (1890–1967) best known for his primitivistic sculptures. ALS signed “O. Zadkine,” one page both sides, 8 x 9.5, October 29, 1932. Zadkine writes to Mrs. Sterner. In full: “I received your kind letter telling me that you would send my ten gouache drawings at once, and untill [sic] now have no news from you, nor the expected so eagerly pictures. My exhibition, and the most important one is going to open the first days of January and I must have at least two weeks for the sending, which means that I have only one month left to get them. Please, in consequence send them at once, so that I would get them in time. I must have them figuring in my show, for they are all named in the catalogue. How are you getting along in these days of pestilent misery? I hope that you still manage to get on, and hope for better days to come ….” Clipped top left corner, central horizontal and vertical folds, a bit of light toning, and tiny tear to bottom edge, otherwise fine condition.
