Irving Thalberg

Legendary Hollywood production executive who took hold of Universal City at age 20, and supervised such films as Ben Hur and Mutiny on the Bounty. He died of pneumonia at age 37. DS, two pages, 8.5 x 11, August 1, 1932. Agreement concerning the loaning out of Charles Laughton to perform in the film Payment Deferred. In part: “You agree to announce the Artist’s name on the first frame of the main title.” Signed by Thalberg in black ink at the bottom of page two. Also signed by a Paramount representative in green ink. Usual file and staple holes, “Copy” stamped diagonally across each page in red, and mild toning and wrinkling, otherwise in fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
