Ballpoint endorsement, “OK, Walt,” on a one-page TLS written to Disney at Smoke Tree Ranch from the Palm Springs Fireman’s Association, 8.25 x 10.5, no date but circa 1964, soliciting ticket sales for their 26th annual Fireman’s Ball. Letter begins: “The members of the Palm Springs Fireman’s Association take both pride and pleasure in announcing that this year (for the first time) they are holding their 26th Annual Fireman’s ball, in the ‘Beautiful’ Mediterranean Room of the Riviera Hotel Thursday night, April 30, 1964. We wish at this time to extend to you our personal invitation to attend this gala affair. An evening spent with the Fire Fighters of your own community is an evening sure to bring you both fun and pleasure, and one we know you will long remember.” Endorsed by Disney in the upper right corner, with another pencil notation to left reading, “$12.00 sent 1/27/64.” Matted and framed with Time and Newsweek magazine covers featuring Disney, to an overall size of 34.5 x 17.5. In fine condition, with punch and staple holes to top edge, several lines of the letter underlined in pencil, and some scattered light creasing.
