Polish biochemist (1884-1967) generally credited with the first formulation of the concept of vitamins in 1912. Two items: TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Funk Foundation for Medical Research letterhead, January 18, 1953. Funk complies with a request for an autographed photo and sends an explanation of his work with vitamins; and a vintage matte-finish 5 x 7 portrait signed in blue ink.
