Description

Jean Cocteau

Versatile French poet, playwright, film director, and artist (1889–1963); among his best-known works are the novel Les Enfants Terrible and the film La Belle et la Bête. Hand-addressed and signed mailing envelope, 7.5 x 5, postmarked December 31, 1951, addressed by Cocteau to “Herrn Dr. Roethel,” in Munich, and signed in the lower left corner, “Jean Cocteau,” as part of his return address. In fine condition, with an “exprès” label affixed directly below signature, and some light wrinkling. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
